Dubai Boat Driving Licences Now Available Online

Aspiring captains in Dubai can now set sail towards obtaining their boat driving licences with greater ease! The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a new online service for issuing and renewing licences for boats and vessels.

This digital transformation aims to streamline the application process, saving residents and visitors valuable time and effort. Previously, applicants were required to visit RTA service centres in person. Now, the entire process, from application submission to payment, can be completed conveniently from the comfort of their homes.

The online service is accessible through the RTA's website and mobile app. Applicants will need to provide necessary documentation, including identification, proof of competency, and vessel details.

"After submitting the required documents, applicants must pass a multiple-choice theoretical exam. The number of questions varies depending on the size of the vessel: applicants for a licence to drive boats up to 12 meters in length must answer 25 questions. In comparison, applicants for boats up to 24 meters in length must answer 50 questions"  - Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, manager of Maritime Enablement, Maritime Operations Department at Dubai Maritime Authority of PCFC.

With this latest development, Dubai continues to solidify its position as a forward-thinking city, embracing digital solutions to improve the lives of its residents and visitors.
